Want WSWC to Give a Presentation at Your Event?
We perform all our programs offsite at the location provided by the booking party or virtually via Google Meet or your preferred virtual meeting platform. Please book as far in advance as possible to ensure availability. All program fees support the care of Pennsylvania wildlife and must be paid prior to the program. We cannot guarantee particular ambassador animals will be available for your program but will do our best to honor requests. We can also advertise events open to the public on our website!

Find ways to become more involved in our mission to inspire coexistence between humans and wildlife. Recommended for mixed or older age groups.

Learn more about what a day in the life looks like for a wildlife rehabilitator. Adaptable for groups of all ages, this entertaining program gives a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the education and skills necessary to become a wildlife rehabilitator. Our human educators are eager to answer your questions about wildlife rehabilitation and the animals we work with everyday.

What is biodiversity? How can we protect natural biodiversity in Pennsylvania? Meet some of our animal ambassadors as we talk about the importance of all species that call PA home and some of the conservation actions you can take right in your backyard. Adaptable to all age groups.

Climate change impacts everyone, including local wildlife. Learn more about how native animals are impacted by the changing climate and what you can do to help. Recommended for adults or older children.

West Shore Wildlife Center’s new “Nature Neighbors Training: A Guide to Wildlife Coexistence” event will help to teach members of our community about how they can create and maintain wildlife-friendly spaces at their homes. The event will consist of an educational program and activities running for about four hours and will contain content about common behaviors that are mistaken as emergencies, species-specific information about behavior and common problems, instructions on how to assist an animal in need, information about how to coexist with wildlife in and around your home, and more! This event is geared towards adults and is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

This full day workshop is designed for those brand new to the field, rehab volunteers & subpermittees looking to receive their own permits, and newly permitted rehabilitators. Starting with the basics of wildlife rehab ethics, permitting, day-in-the-life, and ways to get involved, we will also discuss compassion fatigue, nonprofit best practices, strategic partnerships, skill development strategies, and more. Bring your burning questions and topics for discussion to this interactive workshop. While we will focus on permitting requirements in Pennsylvania and topics for beginner/intermediate rehabilitators, there will be something new to learn for everyone!
